Find Better Food, Inc., doing business as PairMe (the “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who use the PairMe mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes the Personal Information we collect through the App, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.
You can access and interact with the App in many ways, including from a computer or mobile device. This Policy applies regardless of how you access or interact with the App. Depending on how you interact with the App, we may provide additional information about how we use your Personal Information via notices on the App or direct communications with you. Unless we tell you otherwise, any additional information will apply in addition to what is described in this Policy.
Please read this Policy carefully. If you do not want us to collect, use, or disclose your Personal Information in the ways described in this Policy, please do not use the App or provide us with your Personal Information. By using the App or providing us with your Personal Information, you acknowledge that we may use your Personal Information as described in this Policy. If you have questions about how we collect, use, protect, disclose, or otherwise process Personal Information, please contact us at info@pairme.wine.
Our primary goals in collecting Personal Information are to provide and improve the App, to conduct our operations, to communicate with you, and to enable visitors to our Website and App to navigate them easily. When we refer to “Personal Information” in this Policy, we mean information that identifies, relates to, describes, or is reasonably capable of being associated with a particular individual. “Personal Information” does not include publicly available government records or information that has been de-identified or aggregated so that it cannot identify a specific individual.
1.1 Categories of Personal Information. Depending on how you use the App, we collect: (i) Menu Photos, meaning photographs of restaurant menus and wine lists that you take using the App’s camera feature; (ii) if you choose to create an account (which you can do only by signing in with Apple or Google; we do not use passwords), the account identifier and email address we receive from the provider (Apple may provide a private relay email address) and, if the provider shares it, your name; (iii) taste preferences that you enter in the App; (iv) ratings and feedback you submit on recommendations; and (v) Usage Information, as described in Section 3. If you use a microphone button in the App, your phone’s own speech-to-text feature converts your speech to text; no audio is sent to us, only the resulting words if you choose to save them. Menu Photos are sent to our servers and read by a third-party service provider, as described in Section 5.2.
1.2 Menu Photo Retention. We retain the wine and menu information we extract from your Menu Photos so it does not need to be recreated for other users who visit the same restaurant. We do not use facial recognition and do not knowingly retain a Menu Photo that contains a face; we delete the original Menu Photo after we extract this information from it.
1.3 No Sale of Data; No Third-Party Ad Tracking; No Payment Processing. We do not sell your Personal Information. We do not process payments through the App. We do not use third-party advertising or ad-tracking technologies. PairMe provides wine recommendations only; no purchase of alcohol or any other product occurs through the App, and the Company does not facilitate any such purchase.
1.4 Usage Information. We may collect information about the devices that access or interact with our Website and App (“Usage Information”), which may include: (i) device information, such as the IP address, operating system, browser type, language preferences, and device identifier; (ii) information about interactions with our Website or App, such as links clicked, pages or screens viewed, access and session times, and email interaction information; (iii) information about Internet and network activity; (iv) information automatically collected by cookies and other technologies; and (v) any other information a computer or mobile device automatically sends when connected to a website or online application. Usage Information, by itself, generally does not identify a specific individual. If we link Usage Information with Personal Information, we will treat the linked Usage Information as Personal Information in accordance with this Policy. We record activity in the App ourselves, such as the screens you reach and the wines presented to you. The App does not include a crash-reporting tool, but we keep server error logs. Our hosting provider logs IP addresses for security purposes; we do not collect your location or use IP addresses to determine it.
2.1 Directly From You. When you engage with us in connection with the App, such as creating an account, signing up to receive communications, or otherwise interacting with us, we may ask you to provide certain Personal Information. We will specifically indicate what Personal Information is required.
2.2 From Third-Party Services. We may obtain information about you from third-party sources, including the Internet, offline sources, social media platforms, advertising or marketing platforms, service providers, and other public or commercial sources (collectively, “Third-Party Services”). When you access our Website or App through certain Third-Party Services or share our content via such services, you authorize us to collect, store, and use information we receive from those Third-Party Services in accordance with this Policy. We may combine information received from Third-Party Services with information we obtain about you in connection with the App.
2.3 From Other Third Parties. We may obtain Personal Information about you from Third-Party Services through or in connection with the App, including our business partners, service providers, third parties on whose behalf you interact with the App, and other authorized third parties. We may also obtain Personal Information about you from others that refer you to us.

3.4 Do Not Track Signals. We have not yet developed a response to browser “Do Not Track” signals and do not change our data collection practices when we receive such signals. We will continue to evaluate potential responses in light of industry developments and legal changes.
We use and disclose Personal Information we collect for various purposes in connection with the App. This section describes the primary purposes for which we use the Personal Information we collect. We do not sell your Personal Information, as “sell” is defined under applicable state privacy laws, which may include disclosing Personal Information to a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration. We do not process payments through the App, and no purchase of alcohol occurs through the App.
4.1 Operational Uses and Disclosures.
We may use and share your Personal Information for the following purposes:
4.2 Sale of Business; Bankruptcy. In the event of a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or other sale of all or a portion of our assets, we may transfer or allow third parties to use information we own or control, including Personal Information. Except as ordered by a bankruptcy or other court, the use and disclosure of all transferred Personal Information will be subject to this Policy. Any Personal Information collected after such a transfer may be subject to a new privacy policy adopted by the successor entity.
4.3 Protective Disclosures. We reserve the right to preserve and disclose Personal Information that we believe is necessary to: (i) comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request; (ii) enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions and other agreements; and/or (iii) protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our employees, our users, and others.
4.4 Targeted Advertising. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising tools in the App or on our Website. We record activity in the App ourselves, such as the screens you reach and the wines presented to you, to understand how users interact with the App, monitor usage, identify technical issues, and improve our products and services.
We do not use the activity we record to sell your Personal Information or to provide third parties with your Personal Information for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
Where required by applicable law, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain consent before using technologies that require consent, and we will honor applicable choices and opt-out rights.
Nothing in this Section is intended to limit any rights available to users under applicable privacy laws.

Any links to other websites, applications, or third-party content on our Website and App are not an endorsement of, or representation of affiliation with, that party, and we are not responsible for the content, privacy, or security policies and practices of any third party. We encourage you to read the privacy policies applicable to any third-party websites or content you access.

We use the following service providers to operate the App and our Website, and they may receive Personal Information as needed to provide their services: Railway (server hosting); Vercel (Website hosting); Anthropic (reading Menu Photos and drafting pairings); Apple and Google (sign-in); and Sentry (server error monitoring). We do not use third-party analytics or advertising tools.

If you have an account, you may delete your account and all Personal Information associated with it at any time from within the App (Profile > Settings > Delete account), and the deletion takes effect immediately. You may also request deletion by emailing us at info@pairme.wine. Deletion is subject to backup retention schedules and any retention required by applicable law.

We maintain commercially reasonable safeguards to maintain the security and privacy of Personal Information we collect and use in connection with the App. Nevertheless, there is an inherent risk in the use of email and the Internet. Your Personal Information may be intercepted without our knowledge or consent. We cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose online, and you do so at your own risk.
8.1 Retention Periods. We retain Personal Information only for as long as necessary to provide the App and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. You may request deletion of your Personal Information at any time as described in Section 6.3.
9.1 Legal Drinking Age Restriction. The App recommends wine and is intended for use only by individuals who have reached the legal drinking age in their jurisdiction of residence, which is twenty-one (21) years of age or older in the United States (or the applicable legal drinking age or age of majority, if higher, in your jurisdiction of residence). We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from anyone who has not reached the applicable legal drinking age.
