Short version: we suggest wine, you decide, the restaurant pours. Use PairMe if you are of legal drinking age and drink responsibly. Everything below is the longer form of that.
You must be of legal drinking age where you are, 21+ in the United States. By using PairMe you are telling us that you are. If you are not, stop here.
A recommendation service. We read a wine list, consider what you have ordered and what you have told us about your taste, and suggest wines that suit it, with a short reason and a pronunciation guide.
We are not a retailer, an importer, a distributor, or a licensed seller of alcohol. We do not take payment for wine, we do not place orders, and we do not deliver anything. Every transaction is between you and the restaurant.
We are not a medical service.
A restaurant may pay to feature wines on its own PairMe page. When a suggestion is a featured wine, we mark it as the house's choice on the card itself, every time it appears. We do not accept payment to hide that marking, we do not raise a price because of it, and we take no commission on anything you drink.
Wine lists change, cellars run out, and print runs into folds. We read menus as carefully as we can and we tell you when we could not read something, but we cannot promise a price, a vintage, or that a bottle is in the building. The restaurant is the authority on all three.
You own what you write: your notes, your ratings, your free-text answers. You give us permission to use them to make your picks better and to improve the service in aggregate. You can delete them, and us, at any time. Keep your sign-in to yourself.
Do not scrape us, resell our output, upload anything you have no right to upload, or use PairMe to break the law in your jurisdiction. We may suspend an account that does.
We suggest wine. We do not encourage anyone to drink more of it, and nothing in the app rewards volume. Do not drive after drinking.
PairMe is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the preceding twelve months. Some jurisdictions do not allow those limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law permits.
If we change these terms materially, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. You can stop using PairMe and delete your account whenever you like.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
